古来より京都西陣の帯に織り込まれてきた「箔」があります。戦後「着物」の紋様が色鮮やかになり「帯」も鮮やかな色合いが必要となり、それに織り込まれる「箔」もカラフルさが求められ「銀箔」を薬品で加工する「焼き箔」やアルミ箔などに色付けする「引き箔」という技術が生まれました。
引き箔を使用した各種屏風

戦国時代の武将をイメージした屏風です。

二色の箔を使用した市松変形屏風です。縁にも同色箔で廻してあります。

黄土漆と紺漆の上に本金砂子で仕上げた箔を使用した市松屏風です。

「青貝箔(焼き銀箔)」と青と金の引き箔を使用した異質の形の屏風です。

There is “foil” that has been woven into the Nishijin sash of Kyoto since ancient times.
After WWII, the pattern of the "kimono" became brighter, and the "obi (sash)" needed a brighter shade, and the "foil" woven into it also needed to be colorful.
Then came the technology of "baking foil," which processes silver foil with chemicals, and "hikihaku," which colors aluminum foil.
